About the Service
Elwood Healthcare are seeking dedicated children and young people’s support workers to work across activity centres in South Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield. You will work directly with children and young people with learning disabilities, EBD, complex needs, autism, sensory impairment and those that present with behaviours that challenge.
You will be expected to work as part of a team and also under lone working conditions whilst covering 1-1 duties. Activities will include supporting mentoring and educating children with day to day activities, designed to develop their emotional and social needs. Positive engagement with children and young people during activities which include arts and crafts, soft play and music time. Sessions are play based, person centred and require workers to be energetic and interactive.
Your duties will include:
· Supporting, mentoring and educating our children in day to day activities to develop their emotional and social needs
· Developing personal and practical skills to enhance independent living
· Positive engagement to encourage our children and young adults in their development
· Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing your professional skills as part of on-going development
· Managing complex and challenging behaviour
· Support with engagement in activities
Support with personal care is required as part of this role.

Typical Shift Schedules / Patterns*:
We have flexible shift patterns to suit your lifestyle, giving you full control of when you would like to work. Candidates can expect to work a mixture of earlies, lates, and long days.
- 8am – 2pm
- 7.30am – 3pm
- 2.30pm – 9.30pm
- 4pm – 9.30pm
- 4pm – 8pm
- 6 Hour Shift
- 8 Hour Shift
- Day Shift
- Monday to Friday
