Companionship
Our companion champions will see you; they will hear you and they will put your expressed needs or requests at the top of their agenda. That may be some lively conversation, someone to share memories with or a stroll in the park and a nice cup of tea. It’s sometimes the little things that matter the most and remind us that we’re more than spectators of life.
In a very busy world, it’s easy to feel left behind by dispersed families and even more isolated by the cold torch of technology, which can never replace the hug of a loved one or the personal interactions that seem now so rarely provided. Our companions operate with a sense of community and place you and your priorities at the centre of your session plan. We truly value just how important these windows of comfort in the day can be and strive to fill them with what makes you smile.
Our companions can empower you with both practical and emotional support. We know that just getting out of bed in the mornings to face the day can be a chore, we we’re here to help and you regain your focus, your purpose and control over that which you can affect. We also offer mindful classes and on-line courses for those requiring greater support with severe anxiety or stress which will teach you relaxation and meditation techniques.
We can support you in meeting appointments, be present for scheduled home visits and therapies, or the collection of medications. Help in making and scheduling of appointments with your G.P. hospital, dentist, optician, or organise collection of the weekly groceries or sorting of the same following home deliveries. Most importantly we can support you or a loved one, ensuring clear communication and peace of mind that daily routines are set and met.
We provide remote companionship facility over the phone, for those that find it more convenient or perhaps feel more secure or comfortable in doing so opposed to talking face to face. It maybe for reassurance whilst a regular carer or family member is unavailable or looking for respite. It maybe that personal habit requires a bedtime conversation or a debrief on the latest episode of a favourite soap. Your reason or rationale doesn’t matter but the response truly does and that’s why we’re here to listen with empathy and to always fit around your schedule, 7 days a week.
